Have you installed these is it fairly easy or should I get a shop to do it ? I'm a pipefitter by trade

Not much in the way of pipefitting to be done, but it's certainly no more difficult than anything you've ever done on a car or house..... ie; running wiring, rubber hoses & drilling/cutting holes in fiberglass. Do it yourself & learn a ton about your boat. There is lots of install experience here to help guide you.

And make sure when you install the heater, you do it in such a way that you can easily winterize the core. The heater core is the first thing to fail when the weather gets cold. And there are at least a couple ways you can set it up so winterization only takes a few seconds & no tools.

We just had a heater installed and we love it! It was about (ouch!) $800, but worth it. We decided against a shower after talking to people and everyone basically said that if you live in the south, it's a waste of money. We live in NC and the water is about 91 right now. We usually stay out pretty late so the heater is nice once the sun goes down.

We have both. Thought we would use the heater more, but actually use the shower more. Incredible for filling your wetsuit in the spring and great for washing off sand when you park at the beach.

Ya I live up north Canada so today the water is still 19c but feels like bath water still so I ordered a 3 port heater and a shower can't wait until they get here!!
