Second Heater Install

Wake My Day

Recommended Posts

After two seasons of needing a second heater for my family and friends I finally got around to it. I tried several spots for the heater location and not really comfortable with the unit around my amps, I choose under the observer seat. We rarely use it for storage because of the difficulty in removing the cusion. I was a little worried about fat sacs and storage bumping up against the heater and hot tubes so I enclosed it in Starboard. Just a quick note; I found this two port heater from Heater Craft on Ebay for only $175.00. Brand new and free shipping.

Hey Vettesetter: It appears to be a one time deal. I paid 171.60 and now the price is up to 243.77. Still a good deal compared to most and free shipping to Sumas. PM me if you want the direct link. I got my 3/4 inch Starboard from a company in Surrey called PlasticWorks. http://www.plasticworks.ca/catalog/ Great help and they sold their product by the square foot unlike most wanting to sell you a full sheet.

those ebay heaters are car heaters which means that the heater box is steel (could rust) instead of aluminum. I was thinking about buying one too. You bought your hot tubes elsewhere I'm sure?

Yes I saw that the outer box was powder coated steel. I have it on standoffs so it's not touching the carpet. I don't think it stands a chance of getting wet or rusting in this protective box. The kit I purchased comes with heater hose and the switch. I picked up the hot tubes at SkiDim. The CFM for this heater core and fan is the same as the marine one. It pushes tons of hot air for the family.
