I think my wedge is out of alignment...

Recommended Posts

Found this while I was walking around the boat looking for a gas cap we dropped in the water a couple weeks back. It must have happened while we were out last weekend, but I can't imagine how much force it took to do this.

Not sure why, but it isn't letting me embed the image. Link should work though.

Anyone selling a wedge?

I've done that before. We had too much ballast/people and had to have it floored pretty much the whole time. So although the boat was doing like 22 mph, the prop was trying to push 40mph water through the wedge. If you replace the screws in the bottom with more hardened ones it lasts longer.

I don't know how you wouldn't have noticed when you were out there...As soon as we would hit the throttle the boat only wanted to make circles.

I am positive we didn't hit anything. For the most part, we were only surfing, doing 10-10.6. We did pull an Air Chair at 19, but I assume it broke before the AC run, and it bent during the run. The two left screws had their heads snapped off. Only running stock ballast and people.

Now I need to decide if I pick up a new manual wedge, or drop the $$$ for a power wedge upgrade.
