V-Drive impeller unit

Recommended Posts

I notice that I have a water drip coming from the shaft area where my impeller pump unit is attached to the engine. No temp issues, but any idea why this would drip? about 1 drop per second. I guess you would say at the back of the unit, opposit of where you would replace impeller. Boat is 2005 Sunscape

If you have a leak at the rear of the raw water pump, right in front of the engine's harmonic balancer (crank pulley), you have a leaking seal at the back of the raw water pump.

Half the people on here will tell you to pull the pump and replace the seal for $5, the other half (like me) will tell you to replace the whole pump.

Another source.
