In my boat the drain plug is almost touching the bottom of the bilge, there isn't even room for a 90 degree fitting and a hose, so I ordered a self contained 12v pump/bucket system from Overtons that uses a hose down the dipstick tube. It doesn't remove all the oil but about 80-90% and it's pretty quick, just make sure you run the engine 5-10 minutes to thin it before changing. There are some vacum style hand operated pump/tank units out there but mine took forever-thats why I switched to the 12v-well worth it.
