Hammerhead sping questions?

Recommended Posts

Just finished getting all set for spring but have a few lingering questions

1. Does anyone else pull the exuast manifolds to change plugs, wires and give you and extra inch for the impeller install. I could not get to #1 without removing the manifold and #8 also was much easier this way. Is there any issue with pulling the manifolds?

2. I have a 2006 hammerhead and it seems to be setup with the newer (2007) distributor cap. The cap installed is the flat type but the 2006 manual calls for the tall round type. The engine has a sticker that says 2006 Inmar ... So, any ideas on if this boat is setup wrong, could have been altered after market ... Any help with how to diagnose would be good. I did replace cap and rotor and stuck with what was previously installed. I ha,ve owned boat for a little less than a year. So, first time for most of this stuff.

Thanks in advance all the help.

I have a 06 hammerhead and my cap is the short flat on as well. I puton a new set of plugs and wires and did not remove manifolds. I did have to use just a plug socket with a open end wrench to reach to plugs due to clearance issues.

I grinded the sides down on an open end wrench to get the plugs out of my 05 HH. Takes me about 30 minutes and a couple of bloody knuckles to complete the job. Not exactly something I look forward to doing.
