06 v-ride overheating problem

Recommended Posts

My v-ride is overheating on me when I go slow. Anybody know what this could be?When i go fast the temp drops really quickly back to normal. could it be the impeller? if so, how can I fix it?

Thanks Alot!!

Impeller should be an annual service item, if it hasn't been changed go ahead and replace it. A search will dig up a ridiculous number of threads on how to change it out.

Also check for obstructions in the transmission cooler.

Did you check in the tranny cooler for parts and pieces of the old impellor? They can get stuck inthere as well as other tyoes of debris. Let us know. Also when you changed the impellor did you make sure the seal isn't leaking?

Ok so I changed the impeller, still overheated. Get this my cap to my closed cooling system somehow lost its seal, and when the temp got higher it was blowing the coolant out of the top till I had none. Nothing really amazes me anymore.
