Instructions on three 'How Tos'

Recommended Posts

I have a 2008 WS VLX 340 Monsoon. I think there are several step by step instructions here on the forum that I've trying to do on the boat, just can't find them.

First, really not instruction, but how do you get to the two bolys holding the thermostat housing on the block? The engine cover blocks access. I pulled the six hex bolts but couldn't get the cover to budget.

Second, need step by step on removing/replacing,installing the shaft log/rope. I've got two blue wrenches from Bakes.

Last, tower bushings. I replaced the pin bushings fine, but now the pins are extremely tight, to the point where I mang;ed the ring. Anyway, how the heck do you get to the pivot bushings?

Thank you all.

Here is the article I used to replace my packing. Went well for me, just be patient and you will get all three layers of packing out

I have the 400 hp engine with the intake held in place with 6 Allan bolts. Mine was tough to get off due to the compressed gasket. I just gave it a few taps with a rubber mallet and it popped right off.
