Mounting Underwater Lights on an '02 Response LX?

I have mounted a pair of "Malibu" logo 9 LED lights on my '02 Respnse LX but now I am thinking they may not be low enough. My boat has a manual wedge so I mounted them out towards the brackets for the swim platform instead of over the exhaust pipes. The hole that the wire goes through is 6.5" inside of the bracket and 1.25" below the top bolt of the bracket. I don't have any ballast in the boat to weigh it down. When the is sitting at rest without anyone in it, the platform is out of the water. I can stand on the platform with shoes on and not get wet feet with about half a tank of gas. I have the tank pulled forward now, so it easy to work on and I have the possibility to lower the lights about another inch. Do you think it is necessary to re-locate them or not? Let me know your opinions and experiences.

Thanks

Gary

When I was trying decide on the mounting location, I looked at some other posts and some members had them mounted over the exhaust pipes. Since my boat has a wedge, I moved them further out to the sides but at about the same level as the exhaust. I will try to get a photo or two to help out.

Thanks

Gary

Here are 3 photos of the mounting location on the starboard light. The port light is mounted at the same height. Let me know what you think.

Thanks

They are about the same height as if I mounted them over the exhaust pipes, so I think they will be okay. Thanks Gary.

I am hoping to wire them up in the morning. Anyone else think they are low enough??

Thanks

Gary
