Echelon,,, disconnecting the automatic blower fan wire?

Recommended Posts

I have found the wire on the ignition that turns the fan on when the key is turned. If I disconnect that fan wire would I also be disconecting the auto feature the computer has which turns it on whenever below 1500 rpm?

I want the auto feature gone because the fan runs continuously and is very loud. I want to only have the manual on off switch for the fan.

If this wire at the ignition is disconnected the on/off switch still works, so I'm hoping this is the same wire for the "auto" feature????

Thanks

If you are not using your computron just unplug the wires harness and that will stop the auto. Concequently, so will your computron. If that is desired then I would suggest cutting the wire.

However, my blower is very quiet. You might want to look into replacing the motor. If it is loud enough to be that annoying the bearings are prob shot and it should prob be replaced. They are about $30 at West Marine.
