need help fast, rudder has 1/4in of up and down movment.

ok so there is probably already a thread on this topic but i cant find it.

my 2000 vlx sunsetter has a pretty bad vibration when turning right, i have checked prop and shaft looks all good. when i grab the rudder i can push it up 1/4in into the hull and back down freely. need help as i am planing a large day at the lake friday. any pic would help so i can understand better

I successfully eliminated the vertical play on the rudder by adding a large flat stainless washer between the tiller arm and the base. Might not be the same problem given the previous post on the vibration issue.

my 07 vlx had a chatter/vibration on right turns and Malibu added a weight to the tiller arm. No more vibration.
