Threaded binding post?

I am building a sealed 3/4 sub box out of Baltic Birch. Some of the more experienced stero crew members recommended I used threaded binding posts for connecting the speak wires. I went to 4 shops in town and no luck? Anywhere I can order them from online or can you suggest another option? Thanks

Perfect thanks! This may be a rookie quesiton but would you use a bannana plug to connect to the outside of the sub box? What about the inside connection to the clip?

old school - I would not use a banana plug to connect because it can pull out easily. the 5way binding posts will let you screw down the speaker wire in a nice tight fashion. On the inside I would insert the wire thru the eyelet, and solder it. Done deal. might want to caulk the actual mounting of the post as well to protect against air leaks.

You just crimp and solder the eyelet. All the terminations on this lead wire can be done completely out of the boat. Then the eyelet (or ring terminal) slides over the threaded post and gets a washer and nut for attachment. You won't actually be soldering to the post.

A 5-way binding post terminal cup is the easiest way but if you are using a display window then the threaded binding posts can be placed in the upper rear corner of the enclosure and out of view.

Many also use S.S. hardware as a bolt-thru terminal but I like the threaded binding posts better. However, we generally use the small S.S. bolts for the LED lighting terminals.
