Looking to replace my stock speakers in my 2008 malibu vride. My question is will the wet sounds xs650 fit under the windsheild in the stock speaker location? Im unsure if i will have to pull the windsheild? And if the xs650s are to deep to fit in the stock location. Has anyone done this before? thanks for any help/advice!

I presume the dash on the 2008 vRide is the same as the dash on the 2008 VLX. If this is the case, the Wet Sounds XS-650s will not fit in the dash without cutting away the underlying fiberglass. However, the 60 Watt XS-65s or SW-65s will fit without modification.

The stock speakers in the dash of the 2008 VLX were Rockford Fosgate T162Cs with a mounting depth of 2.5".

The mounting depth of the Wet Sounds XS-650s is 3.1". The mounting depth of the XS-65s is 2.6"

I used the XS-650s in the side panels and rear of my boat but put the SW-65s on the dash. The closed grill SW-65s look great on the dash and the grill better protects the speaker cone from the sun.

Yes, you will have to remove the windshield to drill the mounting holes for the new speakers. I was dreading it but it wasn't as onerous as I expected.

Thanks alot Brent! I think since I will have to pull the windshield I might as well cut the fiberglass underlay back wile I'm at it to fit the 650s. Your setup looks awesome aswell. Can't wait to hear it! I'll post some pics. Speakers should be here in a week!!
