Info On Rear Seatback Removal

Recommended Posts

I have an '02 Response LX that I want to install 2 "Malibu" underwater transom and 2 transom lights above the swim platform and I need some info on removing the rear seat backrest. I removed the screws from the 2 brackets in the floor and lagscrews at the top of each side from inside the gunnel but something is still holding it in place. Do I have to take off both side panels as well? Any suggestions?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Gary

Hijack....

How tough is it to get the side pannels off? the netting on the sides is fraying.

Find the screws and start going at it. They are about two feet long while removing  .

Actually I think they are three inch screws but dang they will wear out your arms while removing them,

Dont forget to disconnect your speaker wires and lighting wires

Thanks for the tips. I was able to get the back seat rest out. There were 2 screws one on each side through the carpet in the side panels into the backrest support. I removed the side panel on the driver's side and I was able to to remove the back rest.

Thanks

Gary
