I have always like having the sub recessed

I hooked the sub to my wifes car at 600 watts. Got the neighbors attention.

Can't wait to give it some real power

Very nicely done! Are the amps on the floor underneath that carpeted false floor?

Get more pics , but the amps are mount to the floor angled over each other .

The whole area is waterproof. I used membrane .

Also have two fans for air flow

Looks good ! How is that portion under the helm attached ?

I used the steering rack bolts and couple of angle brackets .

Was not fun attaching it , only access is thru the 6.5 speaker openings

Right on , we just did a very similar setup under the dash as well really like it while driving and made a big differance in the overall sound in the boat . Really like the flat black speaker grills !

After seeing your install under the dash I modified my panel to go down infront of the sub to mount the 6.5

I have 5 layers of fiberglass on it . I was worried about the sub destroying it .

Looks good. This is the second install I have seen lately with speakers mounted under the helm. Just curious as to the rationalle for adding the speakers as well? Personally I really liked the looks of your sub install and the speakers hide it now. Will you be adding carpet or matching vinyl to this piece?

I was torn about adding the panel and almost removed it after I first installed it.

As seen in the pics the sub panel is carpeted and finished.

Couple if reason I added the panel

1 had an dead zone mid wise in the middle of the boat

2 wanted to protect the sub from damage , kids

Last year my son managed to push in all the tweeters on the mids

As for the panel now it is wrapped in white vinyl that matches the boat . If I keep the panel I will have a grey and white skin made when I order my new seat skins later this year

And to be honest now with the logo and seats installed it doesn't bug me as much .

And I can always remove it .

I'm also not too happy with my vinyl wrap job.

And will have some bullet cover plates made for around the eq and hse if the panel stays .

Im sure you will like it . I really like ours but i can claim no credit for the work Jason at Kingpin Marine Audio came up with the idea to build ours . And our is two separate pieces that mount up together so the removal isnt to tough. How is the knee clearance ? Looks like yours comes out a little ways . And are you having and vibtation issues ?

Have plenty if knee clearence since the panel is curved .

I have no vibrations from the panel . It does move a little. It has 5 layers if fiberglass as well as cross supports .

You panel is probably 4 inches back from mine giving you leg room.

On mine we had to matching the curve from the dash then forming one around the drivers legs

just need to clean the interior, my new carpet saver, wax the hull, and polish the stainless then she is ready

This has become a little game for my wife and me. I install stickers she tries to remove them . think she'll find this one.
