Thinking about stringing some light under the canopy of my boat lift. Anybody ever done this? Just thinking of using some outdoor christmas style lights. Any ideas?

What about using rope lights? There cheap and have a better glow that regular Christmas lights..

We use these under a pergola with these bulbs. They have been up for three or four years and I haven't changed a bulb yet.

We use rope lights under the roof of the boat dock. 150' length and they last about two - three years. Make sure to order the rope light mounting channel to hang the rope correctly.

I know a guy that did this to his canopy. He has the electric lift with solar charging and just tied them inoff the batteries.

If it was me, these are the lights I would use. I have often considered this as well but I don't have power at my dock and my lift is manual.

I have a couple of these mounted under the canopy of my lift. They work great with a nice amount of light at night. It is hooked up to the remote control for my boat lift.

they have marine led's. you may find something that you can use

maybe these:

you could put a float switch in it and have them turn on when the bunkers are submersed

Hey Trent, are those "waterproof" enough to put on the trailer for runway light say on the bunks? Or on the trailer frame? Just thinkin it could be a easy add on for a guy who does not have time to drill all the holes ect... in trailer but still would like a "runway" effect. Are they durable enough for an application like that?

I would say they should work great! The are fully rubberized. The only place to wory about would be the connection on the strips. It is fairly small set of solder points. But it shoudl work just fine.
