Silent Running For Motor Box Noise Reduction

Silent Running vibration dampening does not affect air-borne sound levels. It will only help on structure borne sound, such as vibration. While it probably helps deaden the material it is applied to, I would not expect it to help quiet an engine box as the sound waves are air-borne.

I am planning to put noise reducing insulation in my bu and i read about silent running noise reduction, which is a paint-on solution. Has anyone done this before?

I replicated this DIY and it worked surprisingly well. Very happy with it.
