2010 Wakesetter Lsv Stereo Problems

Dave,

First step is...are all speakers including the in-boats, sub and tower cutting out simultaneously or just the tower speakers?

If you have a dual battery switch (like 'Off', 'Both', '#1' & '#2') (and not an ACR/VSR) then check that NO amplifier positive supplies are wired directly to either battery. All electronics including the helm buss, amplifiers and starter/alternator cable should be connected exclusively to the dual battery switch output post. A dedicated stereo memory lead or bilge pump/float switch might be the only battery-direct exception.

The engine should start from either position #1 or #2 and the stereo, including ALL amplifiers, should play from either #1 or #2 position.

Next, with the battery switch in the 'All/Both' position run the system until it cuts out. Back off until it comes back on and run the system just under the threshold of shutting down. Check the voltage across the amplifier primary supply terminals of the amplifier that shuts down. At this point I'm not interested in the voltage reading at the battery terminals. The static voltage at rest and the voltage under load could be considerably different. So check the voltage under both conditions and tell me what you measure.

Then do the identical exercise by checking the voltage of the amplifier remote turn-on lead under both conditions. Document that also.

Not to overload you, that is a start.

David
