Prop Repair

Anyone have a recommendation to get a OJ prop balanced? I sent it to OJ and the claim it was balanced before with the wrong blocks??

Its a long ways away, but since you asked, http://www.nautilus-marine.com/prop-service.html The owner has a camp two from ours, and is a very normal guy. They have good equipment, and know how to use it, fair priced also. I have had them do a prop that always had a slow speed wobble/shake to it that I had at another shop around this area twice to get fixed with no luck, they only had it once and took care of the problem.

Link problem with the first one http://www.nautilus-marine.com/

I was going to say OJ is the best place to balance an OJ prop---you're saying they wouldn't do it because of previous work?

Yea it was wierd, they called me and said it was worked on before, and the wrong "blocks" were used. She offered to sell me a new one at 10% off and they would scrap the old one. Seemed like an upsell program?!!? The prop really isnt that bad just want it balanced before I put it on my new/used Malibu!!

I think the "block" is a shaped block that they used to use to shape the prop, I believe they use to have different blocks for different shape, pitch, cup props and just kind of beat the prop to the shape of the block? I assume BFrank wasn't sure what a block was ether, but that's what they told him.

Sounds like a scam to me.... I'd say send it back and use a local company or The Prop Doc in MN.

Delta Propellar in Cincinnati Oh has always done good by me. Fair prices and very reputable work. OJ and Acme dealer as well as many others. Fast turn around time as well. Speak top Gary.
