Delco Alternator Instalation

BumbleBee

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have to replace my Delco Alternator on my 2008 VLX. I've removed the two bolts, but it won't come away from engine. It appears there is a sleave installed on the main pivot bolt which I'm alittle hesitant to try remove before asking on here....

Regards Rob

It should come right off. However, if you are having an issue with it then just remove the two bolts that hold the alternator bracket to the engine. I have found on my VLX that it is actually easier to install the alternator on the bracket and then the bracket to the engine. More room to work in that area.
