Rear vent mesh grating

Recommended Posts

rothoveb

I have a 2005 VLX and there are vents at the rear corners that have a mesh grating and both have come loose from the metal covers/frames. I don't have access to my boat in order to get a picture of the vents themselves but you can see the right/starboard one just to the left of the Atlanta Inboard trailer guide pad in the picture below:

Any ideas on the best way to glue the mesh back to the cover?

Thanks,

Britt

Had a similar problem with ours. I used Gorilla Glue. Be cautious that it expands. Use a small amount and leave room for expansion.

Thanks for the replies. I was going to go the epoxy route and figured I would check with the experts here first...

I used Loctite Superflex RTV Black Adhesive Sealant. It has worked great for past 12 months with no sign of deterioation.

Two part epoxy or some body bonding adhesive works great, FUSOR . Had to do mine also.
