Skins

I'm thinking about buying some new skins through Chee. I would like to purchase now but wait to install them. Thinking about getting maybe another season out of my old skins. How long do you think I could safely store the new skins in the box, assuming I keep them in the house at room temperature?

Thanks,

Ken

That's my plan. I ordered a box from chee a couple of months ago. Someone suggested that I remove them from the box and fold them up as opposed to folding them. They come tightly packed in the box and to avoid problems with creases from the packing, I unfolded the skins and lightly rolled them. They are stored inside in the "boat room." I think they would last longer stored in this manner than they will when installed on the boat. I could stretch out another season on the old seats, but I will see what I can get done after the holidays.

Thanks, thats what I was thinking. Get the skins now while the wife approves and install later. Good idea about rolling them up.

Mine were just tossed into a box for 2 years. I got most of them installed last winter. My creases eventually disappeared but it would have been easier had they been rolled.

I looked at it from the angle that Chee is a sole source. Sure there are others could do the job, but...Chee skins are special and priced right. But, you could always pay more for less.

He offered $150 to make my center hatch. Is that priced right? Seemed high, but then again, I haven't done any "shopping"

Sounds right, my rear seat back (biggest skin on my boat) was $280.
