Removing response lxi fuel tank

Recommended Posts

I've lately been wake surfing my response lxi and have managed to get water into the tank. How to you remove the bottom panel that sits on top of the tank? Or I've herd that metho gets rid of the water? Is this correct? Also to stop the problem what should I do with my breather ? Should I relocate it or is there a simpler way to stop the water coming in? Cheers

From what I remember (when I put a shower in the trunk) unscrew the rear panel and you will have access to the mounting for the panel.

I'm not sure what year you have -- in my 2003 the screws are nicely hidden in the threads of the carpet, you have to feel around the edges to find them.

Methanol will form a 3 component mix with the gas & water, isopropanol works a bit better but only for small amounts of water in the system -- sounds like you want to drain out your tank like you are considering if there is indeed that much water in there.
