PCV Valve Monsoon II

Recommended Posts

The other day on some other topic, Martinarcher got me thinking about PCV valves. So I looked today and am wondering if I have one or two and how to get them out. The fuel rails are in the way, do I have to remove the fuel rail or the valve cover or just muscle them out? This would be a no brainer if the fuel rails didn't block things.

Here are the pictures

left hose goes from the valve cover to the flame arrestor

right hose goes from the valve cover to the air intake under the flame arrestor

I've just muscled my left one out, previously w/o issue however noticed it being really tight to one of the injector connections. Not sure that is a good thing. Looks like you may have had similar issue as I had (staining of your cover) I'm hoping changing the pcv valve will belay future blowback1

Boz,

Disconnect the steel fittings at both ends of the fuel rail then, loosen the screws holding down the fuel rail.

You'll be able to move the fuel rail (very carefully) just far enough to get the pcv valve out.

BTW, I've found the one that Bakes sells is slightly incorrect. I got one at a local auto parts store that was a dead match.

edit,

BTW, the other hose that looks like it has nothing in it, doesn't.
