Indmar 350 monsoon. SALT WATER SERIES ENGINE QUESTION

in the indmar manuel page 7-7 it tells you what needs to be done to winterize an engine..

number 6 . says to disconnect to drain exhaust manifolds..

yet on page 7.3 .. where it says ALL ENGiNE... it says drain water from exhaust manifolds except on salt water engines..

so do i drain or dont i drain ??

do i only drain water from v-drive cooler, heat exchanger, raw water pump and finished with draining ??

I dont see anything about fogging each cylinder, running anti freeze through flush system ..

we never get freezing conditions where i am just want boat to be stored for 3 months and safe.

boat had oil change / transmission oils changed at 10 hours and boat will have around 25 whe stored..

should i change them again since boat will sit for 3 months??

thks

Salt water engines have a closed cooling system and should not be drained. If you use raw water (lake water) to cool your engine then yes it's always a good idea to drain the manifolds, all hoses, heater, shower, and of course both sides of the engine block. You will sleep better at night if it should ever get at or below freezing.

Regarding fogging. Depending on what year egine you have you might have CAT Converter and it is my understanding fogging oil could damage this. I do not have these on my engine so I can't really give you complete advice on this.

If you don't have CAT's then you can fog through the intake, and/or by removing the plugs.
