98" Titan 3 on a 100" beam

Has anyone "stretched" a Titan 3 tower for a 98" beam to fit a 100" beam? I really don't like how the Illusion X "gets" in the way when foiling and really like how the Titan racks hold foils and wakeboards/surfers farther forward from the tower rope mount. I know it's only 2 inches wider, but will the 98" wide tower attach ok to my boat?

Yes you can get it to fit that boat... Just be careful when you are spreading it those couple inches that the quick connects do not tweak and still line up correctly...

Hey Brian,

Jake removed the old 1st gen Illusion & installed a Titan 3 on his XTI a few years ago. 06 is right, there is a significant glass/gelcoat repair to be done when you do the install. Jake is SOOOOOO glad he did the mod though. So just be prepared to add that cost.

Another option is to put a padded step of some kind over it...... like Gator Grip, SeaDek or HydroTurf. Notice them on my own boat, right behind the rear legs of the tower. Gives people an obvious target to step on as they jump in the boat.

I'm sure you'll be able to sell the Illusion to help with the expense though.

That's gonna be some ugly gelcoat repair to the topdeck. Wait till you lift that tower off, knowing how you roll you may puke when you see it.

Wanna come witness me puking??? :tease2:

I am gonna have an aluminum plate made with Gator Grip or something similar to cover the hole.

Brett, thanks for the info. I "may" try spreading it with the tower on the ground and the quick connects still together, but that may kill the threads there.

If you think there's only one hole you're in for a big surprise  .

You can do anything to a T3 to make it fit. Just set your mind to it and don't give up. I took a T3 off of a 247 and made it fit my Echelon LX. I cut the tow spool tab off and sectioned 14" out of the center of the hoops, then had them welded back together and welded the tow spool tab back on. Man the tower is solid.

If it's like the hole for my nav light or a few others I've uncovered, it will be too big, probably too many, and look like a 2 yr with a wood bladed sawzall cut it.
