i know that there is a lot of info on winterizing here, but i am looking for a DIY guide specific for this engine on my 95 response.

i have searched the forums and have not been able to find any thing specific for this engine.

this will be my first time tackling this job and not handing it over to the local dealership, so any info is very much appreciated!!

thanks,

Alex

I have the same engine in a 96 sunsetter. Here's what I'm doing:

Change oil and filter

Fog engine

Change fuel water separator

Draining the water is a breeze. There are five drain plugs

One under each exhaust manifold where the hose attaches, wing nut design

One on each side of the eng in the middle of the block. The one on the left is attached to and just below/behind the knock sensor. 7/16 th wrench, just tried it today

The last one is on the lower back end of the transmition cooler. I'll probably remove the lower hose as well to drain all off the water out of it.

Rv anti freeze, I'll put antifreeze in the block. On mine there is a plug on the top right of my intake manifold that goes directly into the cooling system so I'll add the antifreeze there. There is another plug on top of the engine water pump as well. I'll probably poor some down the lines to the exhaust manifolds as well.

I know some will disasemble the water pump and store the impeller in a plastic bag but I probably won't.

I'll fill the gas tank and run it with some stabilizer as well

I'll store the battery in the basement

I think that's about it.
