Heater vent

Anyone have any tips, tricks or mods. for the heater vent hose? I made the leap for the 2011 VLX this year and to my surprise, much like with my old boat, that damn heater vent hose, once extended is a real bear to get pushed back in and snapped into the wall. The hose feeds in ok, but when you get to that last inch or so, it's so snug that the vent tip doesn't alway seat in place into the wall mount (due to to back pressure caused by the hose).

The hose has been pulled out too far, so that the length is too much to fit back into the snorkel tube. If you're careful you can pull a few inches out the backside from behind the kickpanel, or you can remove the snorkel, unscrew the clamshell and see how much will fit before re-installing.

My heater tube is a pain to put back in if the heater is actually turned on. The pressure in the hose is enough that it makes it hard to feed the hose back into the holder.

If your vent is closable (like mine) it's even worse if you close the vent and the blower is on.

Not sure if this is actually your issue, but if it is then it is a quick fix. Turn the heater off while you put the tube back in and then you can turn it back on.
