DHM Trailer

Recommended Posts

Good morning, all.

What type of brake fluid does the DHM trailers take? DOT 3, DOT 4, something else? Also, I think I have an electrical issue with the back-up light brake disengage. Until I can figure thjis out, I've been told that there is a mechanicl brake release on the trailer that will disengage the trailer brakes. I can't find anything that looks like a release. Does the trailer have such a thing and, if so, where? Thank you.

Lets just say that I've bought one or two replacement brake components for my trailer from DHM.

I have put about 3000 miles on my DHM in about two and a half years, I've been thru an axle, and 6 of 8 brake pads that were separated from their backing plates. I think my reverse solenoid is defective as well, (can't hear click). What one or two components did you need?

Currently none except for a reverse solenoid.

The smallest amount of rust or particals in your brake fluid will clog the super tiny orifices in the reverse solenoid.

Take it apart by un-screwing the top black part from the bottom brass part. It's RHT.
