poor power 2007 sunscape 20 lsv

Recommended Posts

my 2007 sunscape 20 lsv has very poor power under load (pulling up a skier). top end speed without a skier is about 38 mph, 32 mph with a skier. gas consumption seems excessive.

the dealer sent a mechanic who said it was bad fuel but new fuel hasn't helped.

the boat has only 130 hours and had a full tune up recently.

any ideas?

thanks!!

Did you change the fuel filter with the new fuel? Also try running a coupel of bottles of injector cleaner (I use seafoam) through the motor. If it was running really well last year then sat for a long time the fuel can turn to jelly in the low areas, this will restrict flow when your motor needs it most.
