Help with Paddle Wheel assembly

Recommended Posts

Hello Mailbu owners. I just got a 08 23 LSV which I love. My speedometer quit working and I looked at the paddle wheel under the boat and found it broken. I probably hit it on my boat lift which was set for my old boat and needs slight adjustments. I have heard you have to replace the whole assembly with the wire going to the dash. I looked online and saw a replacement paddle wheel and orings. Looked like you could just replace paddle wheel. Any advice would be appreciated. GPS works fine for speed but it is hard to surf with out perfect pass. Seems like its hard to go below 10 mph without perfect pass. Thanks for the help.

You are correct you can just replace the paddle wheel. There is a pin in the middle of the paddle wheel you need to tap out. The easiest way I found is use the replacement pin in the paddle wheel kit to knock out the old one and put the new paddle wheel in. Doesn't take to long and its cheaper than having to replace the whole thing.
