Old Ski Supreme question

I am asking for a buddy of mine who is looking at a 1988 Ski Supreme with a Ford 351 motor in it. I am not sure how many hours are on the boat yet but it has been well maintained and owned by the same guy for years and looks to be in fastastic shape. The price is 8000 cdn and is decked out with a tower, speakers, racks and new mooring cover and sits on a single axle trailer. Does anyone here know that type of boat and can you still get parts for the Ford motor at SkiDim, etc. Anything to look our for or completely stay away from. My buddy just wants to get on the water. Thanks,

Kevin

The 351 is a great motor. You'll be able to get parts for it almost anywhere. My uncle and I just rebuilt his in his Mastercraft. It is a very common motor.

Just check the stringers very well!

in fact at one point it was the preferred motor of ski boat builders. the parts for a Ford 351 Windsor are very common.

I'd say "almost as common" as the Chevy small block, but nothing comes close to the Chevy in terms of commonality.

The 351 has 2 styles, the Windsor and the Cleveland. I believe the Windsor was the better or the two and used in most boats. My 86 Skier had the 351 Windsor and it was a great motor, but from what I hear and see the 350 seems to be more common with Malibu and most other ski boats used the 351.
