Help with gel coat repair

Recommended Posts

So I was pulling my new 2011 23 lsv on to the trailer yesterday and started rolling it up the roller at the front of the trailer when the side of the roller folded under and put a finger nail width scratch and 6 inches long on the front of the boat. I noticed it when I was cleaning the boat and it made me sick, my question is do you think it would be covered under warranty because the roller should not have folded and split open between the center piece and middle piece Or do you think I am s.o.l... If not what is a fair price to pay to get it fixed!!!!

For that location you might want to try the repair yourself if its white. You're comfortable with wetsanding and buffing, and you have the time to do it. You can get repair gelcoat from spectrum here in Washington.

If not I would estimate <$500 for the repair.

Do you think the trailer company is at fault I have only had the boat for 2 months and I have never seen the roller split down the side where they come together like that???

I've heard of that happening. It's worth a shot talking with the trailer manufacturer though, I'd start with your dealer if you bought both the boat and trailer from them.
