engine will not start after hookoing up batteries

Recommended Posts

Hey Everyone,

so i hooked up my fully charged battery on my 06 lsv with the 8.1and went to make sure engine turns over like I allways do before I heading out. This time to my surprise engine did'nt turn over.So I checked the obvious fuses, breaker near battery and other electical stuff to all my rocker switches and made sure batteries were fully charged, all checked out ok. Whats kind of odd is my dash does'nt light up and on my interior rocker switch the dash light comes on when I turn the key( may b its a code on whats wrong) . it doesnt even turn over, when i turn the key I get a light click under the dash a couple of seconds after.Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Have you tried holding the button under the safety lanyard in while turning the key? This seems to be a common failure item.

If that were it the boat would crank forever but not fire. The op says the boat won't crank.

i did find a 30a fuse under the dash that was blown, I replaced it and still the same thing. Does any one have any experince with the MMDC will that cause the ignition not to turn over the engine. How many fuses should there be under the dash? Thanks everyone for ur help

I actually have a good MMDC sitting on the shelf in the garage. We were throwing parts at mine. Turned out to be the computer at the back of the boat. The Dash and everything lit and it would run fine. Have you tried checking that the batteries are good still? I have one that I can charge full, immediately put in the boat, and it will not fire. Start there...it's cheaper.
