EPA Approves E15 Fuel Label Despite Engine Risk

I read this morning the EPA's final rule spelling out about how E15 can be sold and what standards it must meet. This opens the door for fueling stations to start carrying this stuff. This has a big impact on the boating industry and especially folks like me who own older boats. Your thoughts?

This is a real serious bummer. I too own an older boat and am concerned about this. I'm hopeful that some stations in our area will not carry this fuel. We have 10 lakes in our immediate area, all of them are all sports, and I can't help but think that some of the stations will not carry this because of their customer base.

I know that there are some good additives out there that help combat the issues ethanol creates. I have been using Startron by Starbrite with good success.

I was looking around on the pump the other day, hoping it would list how much ethanol they are mixing in. Didn't see anything.

It would sure be nice if stations posted how much ethanol they are using :(

Most higher end Gas stations like a Shell or Mobil won't have any ethanol in their premium fuels.

So worst case scenario is a have to start running premium all the time.
