Battery 2 not charging

Recommended Posts

Hey crew, got an interesting one for you. It seems that when I have the perko switch turned to battery one, the voltage is at 13.5 while the engine is on and 12.8 when off. I used my multimeter for this and it seems pretty normal to me. When I change the switch to battery 2 and run the same test, the battery voltage stays at the same reading as before the engine was started, so no evidence of charging. Interestingly enough, if I put the switch to all, it looks like it's charging at both batteries.

Is there some kind of problem with the switch or something else? I'm pretty handy, but not a mechanic, so what other tests should it run?

You must have your switch set to BATT2 or BOTH in order for battery 2 to be charging. Your switch is working as designed.

EDIT: Nevermind...I see you did the test with the switch set to BATT2. Sorry about that.
