Malibu Wedding Escort

I really enjoyed the Bu Crew's responses to my engagement last year, see this thread. So I thought It might be fun to involve them in a little event coming up.

My sister is getting married to a great guy on August 6th this year. I am doing the ceremony (yes it's legal). The ceremony will be on the waterfront of the Chain. I was thinking about recruiting any Bu Crew members with boats to give us a 2 lake escort from the ceremony to Pistakee at about 6 or 7 PM. If there is enough interest I will send out more information. I will provide streamers to decorate your towers if you want and a 6 pack of your favorite (accessible) beer as a thanks.

The basic idea is that we will already be taking our Bu with the wedding party, and a pontoon (with the photographer taking pictures) from the ceremony to our place. All you would have to do is anchor or hang off shore at the ceremony 15 minutes before we leave at the designated time and surround us with boats as we go while joining in the fun.

This might be a good opportunity to meet other Bu Crew members on the Chain.

Let me know if you think you'd like to join.

Thanks!

Jim

That is a great idea.

My sister got married on a planned short float trip on the McKenzie River.

Oregonians know how crazy the Eugene crowd is for float trips.

We out pur rafts and drift boats in the McKenzie River just downriver from Blue River, Oregon.

Everybody got out of their boats at a park along the river.

My sister got hitched and then we floated downriver past the old wooden covered bridge and took out near Ike's Pizza.

Twenty plus driftboats easy. Memorable. Even Grandma and Grandpa loved it

Sounds like a great time.

So far no takers but I'm still hopeful. There's plenty of time left.

I was the driver for a couple that is on this site.

We decorated the boat, I drove it to the ceremony, and drove them back to the water front house for the after party.

Photographer on board. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics. but, it was awesome.

This is a great idea. My dealer got married on the water and the pictures were amazing! The bride and groom are in their wedding gear and his brother throws a bankroll over them as they ride on a tube! I will see if they mind a picture or two posted.
