Side Panels 03 RLXi

Recommended Posts

The right side windshield window brace has become loose on my 03 RLXi. I'm trying to figure out how to access the screw behind the side panels which are in the walk-way between the bow and cabin. Does anyone know how to remove the panels?

Any help will be greatly appreciated, I don't want to break anything!

Thanks

I think it's through-screwed from the helm area, screw heads are probably hidden in the carpet so poke around with a pic.

I just looked at this a little closer. It appears they are held on with nylon or plastic fasteners that just pry out. Does anyone have any experience with removing the panels?

I'm about to do this on my 2007 Malibu VTX.....where are the fasteners located and what is the best approach to pry the panel off? How many fasteners are there?  Did you start at the top, bottom, front or back of the panel?  My windshield support is loose and I need to remove the panel to access the bolt.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

FOLLOW-UP:
On the 2007 Malibu VTX it is secured with the automotive style fasteners. I ended up just pulling on the panel with my fingers to pry the panel off.  Just take it easy and it comes off. Then I was able to tighten up my windshield strut brace.  After that I just pushed the fasteners back in place....done! :). Hopefully this helps someone else!

On my 2012 the screws are in the carpet screwed into back side of panel.  Just need to be patient to find them.
