oil pressure/temp gauge

Recommended Posts

OK I will give a little history before I get to my question. Last summer my temp gauge stopped working for 1 day and than began to work the next time out on the boat and was fine all summer. The first time I took the boat out this year the temp. gauge did not work, and has not worked at all this season. As of yesterday my oil pressure gauge stopped working. The motor sounds fine, and I had been driving the boat for 10 minutes before I noticed the gauge. I decided that after checking a few things out that the motor was more than likely fine and spent a few hours wakeboarding with no other issues or interesting sounds coming from the motor. I am not sure if my gauge cluster is going out on me, or if they sending unit for these 2 gauges both have gone bad. This is on a 2005 VLX with the monsoon motor and 250 hrs. Last week I installed a new CD player and I am not sure if I managed to mess a ground up and that is why the oils pressure gauge stopped working.

Any advice or input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jared
