Lake Texoma Advice

We're new to North Dallas and Lake Texoma. We launch our boat at Highport Marine. The boat is stored at a facility within 3 - 5 minutes of Highport Marina.

As respects to Lake Texoma, any advice on the best areas for calm water? Also, what are the best family friendly areas on the lake? Are these areas within a close boating distance from Highport?

What are the options to Highport? Although we like the facilities, it gets crowded. Needless to say, yesterday was pretty crazy.

Thanks

Just left Texoma. The wind is wild. best place we found is close to bikini Island on the south side by the cliffs. There is good protction from the wind.

we usually put in at Grandpappy and the cove that is right around the corner isn't too bad (south end of the lake), but it's hard to find calm water to ski/wakeboard on a weekend when all the yachts are cruising..........our best days were during the week.
