My wife's uncle has a 2010 247 and their starter went out and they are stuck on the lake.

Weather is rolling in the boat won't start and they are quite a ways from the boat ramp and have not been able to find a tow back to the ramp.

If anyone lives on the lake and could lend a hand call BRYAN @ 832-567-3221.

Not exactly sure. They called the tow company......at $175/hr.

Thanks for the thought but they got it under control now that the tow showed up.

they need to check their insurance policy, it probably has tow coverage (mine is up to $600.).

They should have used the required Oar that should be onboard?? Or is this just a California thing....

It's required in TX but one oar is not much help! Speaking from experience...

An oar is not actually required. Once I found this out, I took mine out.

As the plumber said, you'll never get anywhere paddling a ski boat.

You can paddle with skis though.

In Utah, you only need the oar for boats less than a certain length, and I think it is 21 feet. I don't think my local rangers even know that.

Glad they got things taken care of. Bummer to hear of a bad starter on a 2010 already.

When mine wouldn't start (and had no paddle), we took the bindings off of two wakeboards and tried to paddle. That does not work well.

These guys have a 100.00 annual membership fee for towing service. I have heard very good things about them.

PS: Sorry I just saw this or I would have given you a shout. The cold front kept us off the water today.

Maybe we should start a forum contact list that people can sign up for and can be searched by location.

This was done on a couple of Jeep forums that I frequent.

What would be nice is a way to list our contact info. and the bodies of water we frequent and our areas we can help in. IE need a tow, short term storage, trailer help, etc. This way if a fellow member hits a snag they can pull up the info

on their phone and reach out to the community. We did this on the offroad.com forum as well as on pirate4x4. I guess it could also be used for people looking for ski/wake/surf buddies.

Add me to your list buddy. I live in Cedar Park and like to launch at Cypress. Not this year though - having to launch at Mansfield and at Lake Austin at Quinlan Park due to lake levels at Travis. I'll PM my contact info. Every Saturday (except for this coming one), I can be found on the lake by 7 to 7:30 and off before too many people get out.

Sorry I could help this time.
