New VTX

Take 'em off! I never even had them put the graphics on my VTX and it looks sick and clean. Just my opinion, though...with a brand new VTX you can't go wrong. BTW, here's my surf setup:

Front ballast 3/4

Center ballast full

Surf side ballast full

400# fat sac in surf side rear locker

400# fat sac on seat directly behind driver/next to driver (depending on surfing side)

Vary the speed until you get a nice little curl. I usually surf with just a driver and no one else in the boat and the wave has plenty of push. I think Malibu has added surf tabs to the newer VTXs (is this right?) so you should be able to dial it in.

Have fun!

What engine are you running? Also don't you find the VTX wave too short with so little ballast up front?

So I also just took out my new VTX. Did you have any problems with the rear seat cushions lifting up at speeds over 30 MPH? I made sure they were in place nice and tight but it happened a few times.

I didn't have any problem with the seat cushions, but I did notice that the cushions don't fit in as snugly as they did on my 06VLX. I hadn't thought about them possibly flying out, but did think that there will be more dirt getting in between the cushions. There should, however, be more opportunity for the cushions sides to dry and therefore have less mildew there. I'll have to keep an eye on that.
