Sunscape vs. Wakesetter

Well it looks like my boat search is slowing down until the off season. However, I have been coming across some Sunscape's that are pretty reasonably priced. This kind of got the wheels turning. I am going to sack out whatever boat I get, which means that the factory tanks are going to be pulled anyways. I was wondering if anyone has done a price comparison on modifying a Sunscape w/ lots of weight vs. a Wakesetter. Do Sunscape's have thru-hulls for ballast? What about powering the pumps and such? Any other infrastructure differences between the two? I searched but didn't find anything...

Not sure about the infrastructure differences, but the most important difference IMO is to understand that you're not getting the wake hull anymore. Since I don't know what year you're looking at take a peek at this link:

Choose a year and click the link under the Specifications column such as:

As you can see the hulls are different and will throw different wakes. Now I haven't been on a sunscape so i can't answer your other questions, but that's the biggest difference that matters to me - I would want the wake hull.

:plus1: on the year you're comparing.

We wanted the 23 LSV just for the room, so the 2003 Sunscape and Wakesetter 23 LSVs both have the V25 Diamond hull, so it didn't matter in that case.

That changed in 2004 and the hulls were different.

We ended up with the Sunscape so we can sac it out how we want.

Good luck.

Good call on the specs!! I didn't realize that the two had different hulls. I thought the Sunscape was just a stripped down Wakesetter.
