Before i started wakeboarding i was an avid windsurfer. we used this site for wind forecasts:

Does anyone know of a good (preferably free) blackberry app for weather forecasts that actually gives a good wind forecast? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think the OP was after accurate wind predictions neither of those sites actually give you predicted wind speeds unless they are out of the ordinary.

My suggestion is forget the Blackberry app and buy yourself a cheap, cheap, ($40.00), handheld VHF. You can pick up the National Weather Service channel and they give very accurate wind speeds updated hourly.

Edit - most scanners also pickup the National Weather Service.

Toss your Blackberry in the air, if it lands directly in front of you, the wind is NOT blowing. Speed and direction can both be judged by where it lands.:Tease3: Sorry , that was pretty lame. I find that the best way to predict wind is to start putting my board or ski on, invariably a light breeze starts.

Try windalert.com, I dont know for sure if there is a blackberry app but I have a widget that is updated constantly on my droid. It gives real time readings from weather stations near your location or a location you pick. It works great.
