Gelcoat marring/scratches from shrink wrap?

Recommended Posts

I asked the dealer to shrink wrap my boat this past winter, for the first time. I paid good money before it was wrapped to have all the scratches removed and gelcoat work done. I was hoping my Bu would look as good as new, when I removed the shrink wrap....was I wrong!!! Upon removing the shrink wrap (which I also paid good $$$ for), I noticed many marred spots on the Gelcoat that will need to be buffed out. Needless to say, I'll never have my boat shrink wrapped again. I haven't told the dealer about it yet, but probably will....especially after all the money I paid out.

Anyone else have a similiar experience?

Did you tow the boat home with the wrap on?

Yes, I did tow the boat home, while it was shrink wrapped....about a 40 mile drive.
