Well the time is here to get transportation lined up for my new VLX. Does anyone have any recommendations on quality boat movers? I know about USHIP but was wondering if anyone has any personal experience with any of the movers. Also, are there any to stay away from? Thanks for the help.

I used a company called DOTAN transports to transport my 2007 vlx from nebraska to maine. They gave me the option of using a trailer or towing it on its own trailer. They were great to deal with and extrmely quick!

i used a guy that I found through uship. Payed $1,300 to get the boat from Parker, AZ to Syracuse, IN a 2,000 mile trip. This was back in October and gas prices weren't quite as high as they are now. He was great to work with and kept us informed throughout the trip. Let me know if you'd like his information.

I used Dream Time Transportation twice. Once to get my Magic Cat from Long Beach, CA to Lake George NY and just two weeks ago to get my Ilmor 625 from Kentucky to LG Ny. Scott is great and calls every day to let you know where he is. He will tow on your trailer or use his transporter. Very reasonable and has the proper insurance. I don't usually recommend anybody for anything but these guys are great.

Ask for Scott or Susie.

I used uship.com and found this guy (Wayne) and shipped my Sunsetter from CA to PA for $2k (approx 2500 miles). It also rode on a giant flatbed trailer which meant no wheel bearing/tire risk on the boat trailer. The biggest reason I liked the boat on a flatbed is there would be no stone chips from the long tow. Thumbup.gif He is fully insured and has all is paperwork in order - no fly by night guy towing boats.

He would send me an email each evening and let me know how far he made it across country. Super nice guy. He travels with his wife, he drives and she does the paperwork, picture taking, documentation. They do a great job.
