Heater with no heat!

Recommended Posts

I just picked up my new 06 Wakesetter VLX Friday night and had it out Sat. and Sun. putting some hours on it and I was getting no heat out of my Heater!

Any tips on what I should be looking for?

The Blower works fine but just blows cold air!

Check to see if there is a valve on either the supply line at the manifold, or the return line (either on the circulating pump, or attached to a Y fitting in the raw water intake hose). It may be as simple as opening the valve.

Also might want to check for kinks in the heater hose, restricting the water flow. hth

Have a look at the fuse pop-outs to see if the heater circuit popped out. Happened to me when the heater was working continuously for a while.

Check the hot water hose where it connects to the engine block. Make sure it is slid on the barb that sticks out of the engine block (and the clamp is tight). If the hose comes off the barb there will be a lot of water in the bilge when ever the the engine is running.

140 is enough to get you warm and if you got near 160 you should have felt the heat. Also, with RPM up to 4000 you were turning enough to draw water through the core, even without a Y fitting.

I would recheck beef's post above.

Also, you could disconnect the heater lines from the engine and see if you can blow through. If not, your core may be plugged up with something.

Actually, first thing I would check at this point is to see if your heater VENT hoses are attached to the heater housing.
