Fuel tank install 98 Response

Recommended Posts

I have the fuel tank out of my 98 response (what a pain to get out). The biggest problem was the fuel filler hose. After removing the chrome filler top I could not get the hose off the tank. Yes I did remove all clamps. The problem was the clearance to remove the hose. Just not enough room to pull the hose off the tank. It hit against the top of the boat. I ended up cutting off the hose to get it off. The hose has a metal wire running through it so it will not bend.

I am now ready to re-install the tank and have a new 10" filler hose. Any tricks to put the hose on once the tank is back in?

Thanks for any help!!!!

Honestly those filler hoses suck and you just have to wrestle them into place.

If you heat them up a little they have a little give. Some water based lubricant can help too.
