Hydro Damper Lid?

Recommended Posts

If this has been covered don't hesitate to flame but search won't allow three letter words so "lid" and "HDS" were a no go.

Wondering what the preferred method of resealing the HDS box lid is. ours is seeping water from a few of the screws and around the edges of the top of the box. RTV? Figuring 4200 would be overkill as whatever Malibu used lasted 9 years.

Thanks!

Much obliged... had tried that. but this is NOT the infamous "hds leak" (the only hits I was getting with google) which are due to failure of the plexus bond between the liner and the hull. I'm trying to find out what people are recommending sealing the LID and screw holes with.

I used a silicone caulk, and a lot of it. No leaks. Although reading the discussion about this problem and the amount of money people pay to fix this problem has me checking it everytime we take the boat out.
