How about this one, it will twist your head..

I use the Starbright marine polish with P-tef, then put 2 coast of Collinite fleet paste wax ontop of that. That will wear your arm out!

That Ptef is a polish which is basically a sealant from what I understand. What are you so worried about, I hear you have a detail guy that takes care of your fleet of toys anyways  .

I've used starbrite for years as well with two coats. I used to use a carnuba wax, then Collinite but found Rejex worked even better.

Interesting article. Part of the problem is there are so many choices of products (and opinions) available it makes it hard to pick the right one.

Anything is better than nothing....

Be carful with the Rejex it clearly states " NOT for use on porous surfaces" Gel coat is porous.

Ya, the reason according to them is, "The fact they are porous explains why they can be difficult to clean-up and treat. Because they are porous products absorb into the pores and cannot be wiped clean, effectively leaving a cloudy appearance under the product. If the surface is older and chalky, it has to be mechanically polished to expose a fresh surface and burnish, it to minimize porosity, before the application of any temporary protectant.

So far it's worked better than anything else I've found to keep the harsh water spots off. It's not the easiest stuff to use as it requires a 12hr cure period. I know two others that have used it for years and hasn't been a problem.

I have some of the starbrite with PTEF. Do you recommend using a machine to put it on and off or do you do it by hand? My boat is a 2007 that I bought brand new in 2008, so there's no chalkiness, or dullness to it as I have looked after it by wiping it down regularly and storing it where the sun doesn't get at it. Thanks

FWIW, I've been using the Star-brite with PTEF since 2006. I apply it

by hand. I use the Finesse-It II every other year or so when focusing

on minor gelcoat scratches, and I use a random orbital polisher for that.

But, once the gelcoat is already well-prepped, I don't think that applying

the Star-brite with a polisher offers any discernible advantage. YMMV.
